College Football 25 will be released in mid-July 2024, but the list of platforms on which the franchise reboot will be available is limited.
It has been 11 years since EA Sports released the official college football game. This will change on July 10, 2024, when College Football 25 will be available worldwide.
Since then, the landscape has changed, and we’re not talking about NIL deals or conference realignment. The last college football game, NCAA Football 14, was only available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Two console generations have entered the market since then.
So, which consoles will College Football 25 be available on? Here’s an overview.
EA Sports College Football 25 will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This was officially confirmed by the developers in May 2024.
When EA announced plans to revive the franchise in 2021, EA Sports Vice President Daryl Holt (ESPN) stated that the company’s decision to bring it back was supported by the technologies of the PS5 and Series X|S.
Since then, EA has continued to release old versions of EA FC, Madden, and NHL. But College Football 25 will follow the UFC 5 model, which was launched in 2023 without an old version on board. At that time, developers emphasized ensuring the reliability of the PS5/Xbox Series X versions.
What about versions for Nintendo Switch and PC?
EA Sports College Football 25 will not be available on PC or Nintendo Switch. This also means that the game will not be playable on Steam Deck.
Some EA Sports games, including Madden and NHL, have been unavailable on the Nintendo platform for many years.
However, all EA Sports games, except NHL, are available on PC.
No, College Football 25 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass.
However, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play subscribers will receive a 10-hour trial version of the game starting on July 16, 2024.
