World of Warcraft remains one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world, but what will be the player count in the game in 2024?
As World of Warcraft continues to evolve thanks to Dragonflight, the shores of Azeroth are open for business and becoming increasingly popular.
While it was once the leading MMORPG, there is now a whole group of competitors waiting for their chance to take over that title. With Destiny 2 and FFXIV continuing to attract new players from around the world, where does WoW rank in the list of levels?
Here is a full list of how many people are still playing World of Warcraft as of July 2024.
Monthly Count
For July 2024, it is estimated that an average of 102,377 players log into the game daily to continue their adventures in World of Warcraft, according to MMO Populations data.
It is worth noting that this information represents «estimates based on the number of subscribers and online sentiment,» and therefore is a pure estimate. The official player count has not been disclosed, except in Activision Blizzard’s quarterly reports.
Player Count Compared to Competitors
When compared to other MMOs, World of Warcraft still remains the most popular MMORPG of all time by a large margin. No competitor comes close to WoW’s estimated total player count of just 2 million out of 140 million.
Is World of Warcraft a Dead Game?
It’s no secret that WoW has had its ups and downs, but this statistic proves that it is far from dead. In fact, it remains well ahead of its competitors despite comparisons with FFXIV and Lost Ark.
A recent IGN report also shows that the game is currently on the rise: with over 7 million players subscribed to the service.
The number of subscribers has significantly increased compared to previous years and months, reaching a low of 4.07 million during the Battle for Azeroth.
