Like most TCGs, Disney Lorcana denotes rarity with small symbols on the cards, but what do they mean? This guide will provide a detailed explanation of Disney Lorcana rarities.
Disney Lorcana has attracted veterans and newcomers to TCGs alike thanks to its challenging mechanics and beloved lineup of Disney icons. Over its relatively short lifespan, the game has developed a diverse meta and a significant player base.
Of course, to create a competitive deck, you need all the right elements, and some of them are harder to find than others. Understanding how Disney Lorcana rarity works will help you understand how difficult it will be to track down certain cards.
This guide should help you determine how rare your own Disney Lorcana cards are and what the likelihood is of encountering the cards you need in boosters.
Explanation of Disney Lorcana Rarity Levels
Technically, Lorcana has six rarity levels, although there are special promo cards that fall outside of these six levels. All these rarities are denoted by a symbol that appears in the center bottom of each card.
Each card is also available in foiled and non-foiled versions. Foiled cards are sometimes called shiny cards because of their shiny treatment. The only acceptable ones for this are the Enchanted cards, which all have a foiled treatment.
Below are the rarities of Disney Lorcana and their symbols:
Contents of Disney Lorcana Booster Packs
While the cards in each Disney Lorcana booster pack are randomized, there is a rarity formula for the cards you will receive. Each pack contains a set number of common and uncommon cards, as well as a guaranteed foil.
Each booster pack also has two slots designated for rare or higher cards, and it should be noted that a foiled card can also be rare or higher. All Disney Lorcana boosters contain 12 cards, with the contents being:
- 6 Common
- 3 Uncommon
- 2 Rare, Super Rare, or Legendary
- 1 Foil or Enchanted
While Commons and Uncommons are more common, there are still many useful Lorcana cards divided among these rarities. Many of them are often the meta backbone and useful as Shift targets for stronger characters with the same name.
Of course, if you collect Disney Lorcana, you may also be interested in other aspects of rarity.
Enchanted Rarities in Disney Lorcana
The most sought-after and expensive cards in all of Disney Lorcana are the impressive Enchanted Rares. Known colloquially as Enchanteds, these full-art cards feature alternative artwork and special foil treatment.
Only a limited number of cards in each Disney Lorcana set receive the Enchanted variant. Their drop rate is also extremely low: for every 96 boosters, only one Enchanted card is guaranteed, meaning you could open a whole box of Lorcana boosters without getting an Enchanted card.
Promo Cards in Disney Lorcana
Finally, some Lorcana cards are special promo cards that can only be obtained under special circumstances. Some are given out for attending specific events, while others are awarded as prizes for winning tournaments.
These cards cannot be found in booster packs at all, unless there has been a production error. Some promo cards will have alternative illustrations and even feature foil treatment, while others will just be minor variations of existing cards.
