Viessa is one of the starting characters in The First Descendant, so she is quite easy to obtain. If you want to make the most of her strengths with the right skills, weapons, reactor, and modules, here’s what you need to know.
It is worth noting that while Viessa has her strengths as a character, she is the worst option for starting. The lack of defense makes her worse on paper than Ajax, and Leopika’s AoE damage is slightly better with more consistent CC.
However, Viessa has a ton of power in other areas that only become apparent once you get the right build. Her abilities are not very good on their own, but with the right weapons and modules, she is a strong choice.
If she feels weak at the beginning, just wait it out. Even though Viessa is a starting character, she is more inclined to scale in the late game. Here’s what you need to know to get the most out of her.

Best Active Skills for Viessa
Viessa differs slightly from other characters in The First Descendant class. While most characters have several skills that are superior to others, such as those you should use your precious MP on, Viessa is more based on having the right rotation of abilities and build.
Playing as her, you have two development options: either you focus on getting MP and recharge to spam her abilities at close range, or you only take recharge and leave her Ice Road at 100%.
Her passive, Ice Sphere, gives her additional damage for hitting enemies with Ice Shackles, a status effect that slows enemies. You’ll want to spam Frost Shards to keep these spheres stacked regardless of your build, but investing in additional MP and MP regeneration is mandatory if you want to use Frostbite and Blizzard on cooldown.
You don’t want Viessa to run out of MP, considering how fragile she is. If you’re not constantly moving and freezing enemies, you’ll be very fast.
