Gley is a powerful character choice against enemies in The First Descendant, especially bosses. However, to get the best results from her, familiarize yourself with our best Gley build, which includes the perfect weapon, skills, Reactor, Modules, and more.
Like Jaiber, Gley is also a merchant of items and does not use attributes in her gameplay style, meaning she has to rely on her skills to maneuver among enemies.
Let’s start by addressing this — Gley is not ideal for beginners. She can be a bit intimidating, as one of her abilities significantly increases damage dealt when activated, but at the same time reduces her health regen, unlike other Descendants.
Taking all of the above into account, our Gley build guide has everything you need to know to make her a force to be reckoned with in The First Descendant.
Best Active Skill
Of all the active skills for Gley, these two will never fail:
When Gley enters her Frenzied State, her ATK of firearms and Penetrating Ability increase, but this will decrease her HP Recovery. This means she will be vulnerable to attacks, especially during battles with bosses, but this can be countered with Ajax on the team. Ajax’s Orbital Barrier will stop and reflect all enemy attacks.
The second best active skill is Enhanced Sensory. It reacts differently in the «Frenzied» and «Non-Frenzied» states. While in the «Frenzied» state, it applies «Maximum Lethality,» and bullets do not deplete. During this time, her running, sprinting, and movement speed increase by 50%.
Conversely, using the skill in the Non-Frenzied state applies Maximum Recovery, during which her Life Sphere Generation increases. This means her health regen amount increases by 8% of maximum HP and lasts for 10 seconds.
Here are five available skills for Gley in The First Descendant:
- Thirst (Passive): Reduces incoming damage. Defeated enemies have a chance to drop Life Spheres, which, when contacted, provide Life Force and help restore HP.
- Frenzied: Increased attack and firearm penetration ability, but at the cost of reduced HP recovery.
- Life Siphon: Deals damage to the target in range and restores HP, with the amount of restored points increasing depending on how many enemies you hit. In Frenzied state, it deals increased DMG proportionally to HP, and in Non-Frenzied state, it gains Vigor.
- Enhanced Sensory: Increases lethality in the frenzy state and applies maximum recovery in the normal state.
- Massacre: Equips Unique Weapon, where the number of charged bullets depends on the amount of Life Force. In the Frenzy state, it increases Damage proportionally to HP, and in the Non-Frenzy state, it stuns affected enemies.
Best Weapon
Whether your play style is aggressive or passive, the Thunder Cage Submachine Gun is the best weapon for Gley.
The best thing about this weapon is that it emits an Electric Shock Wave that deals additional damage to nearby enemies. Being a submachine gun, it has a high rate of fire, complementing Gley’s Frenzy state.
Take a closer look at the Thunder Cage statistics:
- Firearm ATK: 24 (increases with upgrades)
- Rate of Fire: 666
- Reload Time Modifier: -20%
- Damage Range: 3m
- Reload: Upon defeating an enemy, there is a chance the defeated enemy will release an Electric Shockwave that deals additional damage to nearby enemies.
Best Reactor
The best reactors for Gley are those that focus on Skill Power and Sub-Attack Power. This will significantly increase her damage, which will be crucial during battles with bosses and Abyss missions.
Gley can be quite aggressive due to her «Frenzy» ability, so you need to find Reactors that will increase her damage and make her Frenzy state more lethal.

Best External Components
The best external components for building Gley in The First Descendant are those that have the following characteristics:
These components are based on RNG, meaning you may not always find ones that have all the characteristics mentioned above. However, keep searching, as you never know when you might come across the perfect External Components.
You don’t need to equip components with the «Max. Shield» property since she doesn’t have it, so it would be pointless.
That concludes our best Gley build in The First Descendant. Be sure to check out our other build guides for Bunny and Freyna for a detailed look at these Descendants.
