Pokemon Go Fest Global 2024 presented fans with a myriad of wonderful rewards to immerse themselves in, including many new Pokémon and a few juicy in-game rewards. However, one of the most exciting ones is the special research «The Dust Settles,» which offers curious trainers amazing prizes for their perseverance.
However, this special research task gives players a very important choice, and it’s not immediately clear what you should choose. So we break down the options, rewards, and what you should choose in our complete guide.
Which to Choose: «Basking in Radiance» or «Hidden in the Shadow»?
Pokémon Go players should choose the special research path «Hidden in the Umbra» as Necrozma from «Dawn Wings» outshines «Dusk Mane».
Furthermore, Lunala has a more useful adventure effect activated by Moongeist Beam, making the lunar Pokémon more valuable in both battles and beyond.
Of course, if you’re a big fan of Solgaleo, you can still choose the «Basking in Radiance» special research path as it’s not a bad choice either way. Dawn Wings Necrozma is expected to be a fantastic raid Steel-type monster with a huge attack stat, but it doesn’t differ significantly from the regular Solgaleo.
Dusk Mane Necrozma is still a very powerful Pokémon, but when objectively comparing it to Dawn Wings, the latter comes out on top. This is because the difference between Lunala and Dawn Wings Necrozma is much wider, so if you have both legendary Pokémon but only enough fusion energy for one, it’s better to have Dawn Wings Necrozma and regular Solgaleo.
If you choose the «Hidden in Umbra» path, you will receive enough fusion candy to merge Lunala and Necrozma, obtaining Necrozma with Dawn Wings. Use its signature move, Adventure Effect Moongeist Beam, and you will attract Pokémon normally caught at night and be able to evolve some Pokémon.
While Moongeist Beam is active, the game operates as if it were a full moon night. This allows you to evolve Eevee into Umbreon, Amaura into Aurorus, Rockruff into midnight form Lycanroc, and even Ursaring into Ursaluna. Essentially, this effect is very useful.
